Next Corvette C6 ?

Little is know about the next generation vette scheduled for the 2004, its code-called GMX 245 and its expected to be the most sophisticated Corvette ever produced but its still going to be based on the excellent  C5-chassis.

There are several rumors for different powerplants, included a revolutionary OHV with twin camshafts in the block and the use of an updated LS6 engine for the base Corvette.

Motor Trend guess about 370hp and 390lb-ft of torque for the next base C6.

They could also use a high-performance version of the 6.0 V8 currently used in the truck divison.

They are going to keep the current 6-speed tranny and the are going to replace the automatic with a 5 speed  5L60-E  transmission used also by the upcoming Evoq...expect the vette to share some of its latest technology with the Evoq cousin.
